Renault Scenic - Coil Problems

My 2000 Xreg 1.6 Scenic RXE Auto had its coils replaced about 2 years ago by the AA using genuine renault parts.
Driving home from work today on the M27 the car started to judder and loose power. I managed to get it home but I suspect its the coils starting to play up again.
I disconnected the leads to the coils one by one and engine stopped on 1, 3 & 4. Disconnecting No 2 made no difference to the lumpy engine.
I'm therefore assuming that No 2 coil is gone.
A quick phone around and I can pick up a new set of coils on Saturday at 29 +VAT each (geniune Renault parts) or 20 each for "aftermarket spares".
A couple of questions:
1. Do the coils just push onto the spark plugs?
2. Is it worth buying the more expensive renaulkt coils ?
3. Should I change spark plugs as well?
Any help would be much appreciated
