My MG had the same problem and it was due to the wire being under tension. I accidentally broke the clip (d'oh) which fastened it to the seat frame. Once it had a bit more slack it solved the problem completely...
Couldn't find any actual loose wiring connection, but since moving the wires about under the seats the fault hasn't manifested itself again.
