My gut feel is that one of the ABS reluctors (the serrated bit on the hub) may have been disturbed or one of the ABS sensors is loose. Could be ABS connectors loose, but as they are checked for continuity at start up, unlikely. Can't be N/S front as I believe that ABS sensor drives the speedo. Do let us know how you get on.
I still have not found the problem but I am suspecting the sensor gap is at fault ,I have been told that the rear hub bearing should be over tightened to roughly 300 mn's and may give this a go or I might get an auto electrician to have a look ,haven't decided what to do next as definitely a strange problem????
will post if I get a solution.
