From what I understand, the colder the air, the more denser it is, the more power can be attained.
The only word of advice given fitting a cone filter as opposed to a directly ducted air feed would be that you may need to fabricate some form of heat shield around the cone itself to prevent heat soak.
Getting it all set-up on a rolling road will maximise your results, whilst highlighting any areas of fuelling mismatch.
