brake pedal sinks
My 2010 renault grand scenic 1.5 diesel has brake pedal creep. Brakes work fine but were spongy when I bought it 3 months ago of fleabay.
Lately sitting at traffic lights even with the lightest possible pressure to stop the car rolling, the pedal sinks to the floor in about 10-30 seconds, seems to vary slightly from day to day
I or 2 pumps & pedal quickly rises only to slowly sink again. Engine off 1 or 2 pumps pedal becomes very hard & does not sink.
No loss of fluid from reservoir. No visible leaks. Still sinks with all calipers clamped off & engine on. Worn rear discs & pads replaced then rebleed didn't help at all. Replaced master cyl & rebleed seemed to help for a few weeks but now sinking again. ABS works fine have tested it on gravel drive & no lights on dashboard. I know a sticking valve in the ABS pump could cause pedal creep but looking at cheaper fixes 1st.
Tonight I Removed servo hose from engine and brake obviously harder but feels more normal & no sinking. Could it be a faulty servo? Or faulty internal valve in servo.
Currently in timwesthead's garage:
