Rear Calliper advice Grand Scenic2

Hi Chaps.

I have just replaced my EPB module myself after driving round with one calliper partially stuck on for 12 months. My cables wound themselves in on the n/s/r so calliper lever was constantly up right. On removing old module and disconnecting cables from callipers I have removed lever and refitted it on the splines against the stop in the hand brake off position like my good o/s/r calliper and cable.

I have then manually by hand operated the lever while module was off and it works fine, basically its not seized in the up/on position, its just the module that was holding it there. So with that in mind I have refitted this calliper. I have lay underneath while some operates handbrake and lever seems to be going up and down as it should.

However......A friend who works at Renault says to replace calliper anyway and that because its been in the position for so long it will eventually fail and damage new module.

Have others here experienced this?
