No main stream car manufacturer makes their own braking systems,they are sourced from other companies (Bosch,ATE,Lucas,Bendix etc,etc).Genuine pads are still made by the same people,they just have different logos/part numbers/boxes.

There are certain makes of aftermarket pads that I would avoid,but Pagid are perfectly OK and I have fitted them many times in the past without problems.

I also read here the people are still using copper slip,this is no longer recommended and it will void many brake manufacturers warranties if they see that copper slip has been used.There are specific greases designed for use in braking applications and copper slip is not one of them.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
