Re: Setting Your Key Plip

hi there,
hoping someone can give me a little bit of info to help solve my problem!

i live in ibiza, just had engine mount replaced on my 1997 twingo and now the immobiliser can't be de-activated with the keyfob :-(

we can tell that the keyfob is doing something, because if you push and hold the central locking button near the rear view mirror you can then lock the car with the button on the keyfob (it unlocks immediately, but at least it shows that the transmitter is transmitting and the receiver is receiving.)

there is a warning light on the dash showing a system failure when you turn the key in the ignition.

It may just be that the ECU has forgotten the keyfob due to disconnection of the battery. I have seen threads describing how to reprogram, but I don't know my 4 digit code.

in the service book it says that my key number is 00113431 and my remote fob number is WLUUWXJ but I'm not sure what these relate too.....

Can anyone give me any further information please? Are these the symptoms of a forgotten remote? Or something else? Would any old remote do what mine is doing currently(attempt to lock the doors after central locking button has been held down?) or does the fact that it is doing something show that it is still recognised by the ECU ?

Thanks in advance!
