Tis false economy not to change the water pump, only 23 IIRC.
Replacing timing belt & tensioner, which too is a MUST, puts stress on an old water pump. Should the bearings collapse, then the timing will be lost, with disastrous results for the engine & your wallet. At most, adds an hour to the job. But cheaper than doing the job twice + head rebuild.
