The dashboard is reporting the front passenger door is open even though it it closed. This has the effect of stopping the central locking from being able to lock the doors. I can get round it by pressing the internal door locking button for 5 secs, but I have to turn off the internal lights to avoid flattening the battery.
I cannot find the door switch to check the connections. Can anybody help?
hi
i've had the same error myself.
there is a tiny micro switch inside the lock that breaks and can not be fixed.
if you gain access to the door internals the wiring loom that goes to the lock has four wires. the outside 2 are for working the lock and the middle 2 are the microswitch wires.
i removed one of the middle two from the plug which is easy.
at this point your dash should say the door is closed all the time and allow you to lock it with your fob
Thanks for the message, I suspected it might be built in to the lock from other postings, but there are six wires on the lock connector, not four. I'll have to try getting the old multimeter out to try and identify which are the switch connectors.
I assume that the switch is normally closed and open circuit when the door is closed if it worked when you disconnected it.
Many thanks anyway
