Laguna II - ESP Fault/ABS Sensor?

So my Laguna has had this ESP Fault flashing up for months and months.
I sourced some 2nd hand ABS sensors for the front and replaced them for it to make no difference - still receiving the dash esp fault.

I guess I will now have to replace the rears sensors.

- Does anyone know whether the front and rear sensors are same?
- Are the sensors left or right specific?
- If it's not the sensors what could it be?

Re: Laguna II - ESP Fault/ABS Sensor?

Hi Jacobite,

Not sure if the car would log the fault so may need battery taken off for a few minutes and then put back on and see if that clears it? Dont forget that radio may need a code if you do this ok.

Ahh didnt think of that obvious one, will give it a crack.
I did the service reset, but don't think that does anything.

Hi Jacobite,

Do you still have your suspension rattle going on and did it start not long after lowering the car?

Re: Laguna II - ESP Fault/ABS Sensor?

Suspension rattle was what I thought it was - strut mount top failed eventually.
Because of the tiny movement the shock absorber rod continually banged against the underneath of the strut top mount, the rod eventually smashed through the entire assembly and protruded out the other side bashing the bonnet up
I knew what it was when it eventually failed catastrophically, but near impossible to find beforehand unless pulling the entire suspension apart.

Oh and battery reset didn't fix it.
