Hi all,

In all the time I've been driving, I've only used my front fog lights once. Plus, when I did use them, they didn't seem to help me see better, perhaps just be seen better by other drivers.

So, I decided to convert them into DRLs which will help people see me better all the time! :)

The equipment I used:
- 2 x H11 SMD LED Bulbs (eBay - £8.00)
- Ring DRL Control Box (came as part of a set with aftermarket DRL lamps but can be ordered separately from Ring for around £20 - £30).
- Some decent grade auto wire from Maplin - £1.69
- A pack of Scotch-locks - £1.80

So basically, here's what I did:
- Connected the control box to battery positive and negative, and also the sidelight positive feed.
- Fed the DRL wires down the front to where the fog lights are situated.
- Removed front bumper splash guard and removed the standard halogen fog bulbs / replaced with LED ones.
- Removed the fog light wires from the plug and wired in the DRL wires instead.
- Put everything back together, tested and all done!

Took me about an hour, and the result is that the DRLs come on and off with the engine (no switch) and also turn off at night time when the sidelights (and therefore auto headlights) switch on - fully operational, road legal and automatic DRLs for about £30 :)

Let me know what you think - Photos are attached :)

Andy
