First of all, fasten the croc clip to a good earth. If you can get it to fasten into the body (not the centre) of the lighter socket in the boot, that should do the trick.
Now turn on the ignition but don't start the engine. Check that the reversing lights come on when reverse is engaged.
Turn off the ignition again and unplug the connector. Ignition back on and probe each of the pins. Make a note of which (if any) light the lamp.
Now engage reverse gear and probe the pins again. One should light the bulb that didn't on the last test. That's your reverse light feed.
If you don't want to unplug the connector, then you can try probing each of the pins from the back of the connector. If the screwdriver blade won't fit, then unbend a paperclip and shove that into each pin in turn, and test by touching the screwdriver to the paperclip.
