When you go into the test mode on your ins panel, when you flick through the various different screens, there will be one that shows how many litres of fuel are left in the tank, if this is showing e.g. 30L, but the gauge is still at the bottom, then it sounds like the panel is at fault, if the reading is a lot lower than what you have just put in and the needle stays on the bottom, then the sender will probably be the cause, make sure that you clear any faults on the panel when in test mode also, one of the screens will show if any fault have been stored in the past, it will noramally show "----" if no faults are found, or "t--h" depending on what has been stored, press the trip reset at this point to reset the panel and see if that does anything, hope that helps...
