As I understand it this is the situatuion...

Carminat is the name given to Renault's range of sat nav equipment - it is not a supplier.

The Full Colour version of the system supplied between 2000 and 2005 was based on a Philips Carin system.

Philips sold the design rights to Carin to VDO/Siemens (do know when).

If you look at the rating label on the equipment then you find a Philips Carin number (22SY...), a VDO number and a Renault number (8200...)

Hi Horatio,

Am a new forum member, having just acquired a Trafic DCi100 fitted with Carminat. Am having one or two minor issues with it and, as the GPS system is dated mid-2004, feel it could do with a reloading of the OS.

Is your kind offer (about the firmware CDROM) still valid?

(I'd send you a PM, but can't find if this forum supports this).
