No Power??? Scenic HELP!

The battery has been replaced but the screw connection has been intermittently disconnecting.

I have replaced it with a new terminal thingy.

Now it seems I cannot get any power. There is power in the battery but no lights or anything when I turn the key.
The alarm light is flashing. I had it working a few times previous but I had to fix the bad connection problem. Now it seems nothing apart from clicking when I push the remote to unlock and lock the doors.

Has the immobilizer stopped any power or maybe I blew a fuse. Can't see any fuses gone though.

No power getting through from the battery???????

Thanks in advance

no power solved

I found the culprit.

In the Engine bay there is the screw terminal connector for connecting jumper leads to the car. The battery connects directly here before going elsewhere. The screw connector is removed in the case of jump starting.

The problem is the car has obviously been jumped a few times before I got it.
No one noticed that the lug was not hammered down onto the terminal and instead would twist off when the screw lead was removed. This meant that the connection was prone to disconnecting when going over bumps etc.

So if you have power issues. Check very carefully the screw connectors on the battery and in the engine bay jump terminal. Both seem a little prone to disconnection if there is not good connection with the lug or the lug is not secured enough on the metal terminal.

I replaced this screw mechanism on the battery. I don't want to go out and buy another lug especially when the connection is prone to problems. A normal clamp-like terminal connector is simple stupid no problem.
