hello

i had the same problem start about a month ago on my 1.9dci lag, checked oil ect, all ok. have just had it recovered after bearing noise from turbo, stripped down and found heavy carbon deposits in oil ways and shot bearings.
might be worth investigating and maybe a strong engine flush through the block and a check of the oil pump.
hopefully this may be helpfull:d

just to follow on..

fitted a service kit from ebay:forehead: into turbo, found air side bearing had more play than original (refitted original) and exhaust side oil seal a fraction to large so would not fit (had to use original one) refitted and found turbo well out of balance, after 1 hour of repositioning air impeller using my trusty henry to spin the turbo up on the work bench, i finally got it balanced well enough to use.:surrender
but i think i will buy a new center part (chra??), a lot simpler and in the long run would probably be cheaper.:d

on the up side, the oil light coming on when my revs drop has stopped, maybe caused by the turbo being stiff and causing a pressure issue:think:

hey i cant solve the problem at all i have changed the oil changed the oil sensor had the car serviced but still not going off its only when the car is hot and the revs drob but it says in the hand book that the oil light could come on if there is 2 much pressure or something well out my leage any ideas

i had same problem for about 1200 miles and ultimately found after loads of noise and a trip on a recovery truck my turbo was full of carbon on the exhaust side of the unit, having cleaned it and replaced the bearings the light issue has gone.
might be worth getting the turbo removed and checked before it starts making funny noises, if it is blocked up in the oil ways, my suggestion would be to replace center part rather than have a service kit fitted, as in my above posts it has caused me a lot of agro and waisted a lot of time.
my lag is on 147000 miles and when i had the car recovered i got the impression this was not uncommon at that mileage.

oh.

well it wont be that then:rofl:

does it happen when you are stationary, you could check the oil pressure readings when it happens, you would know if it was under or over pressuring.
all i could think it might be is a dodgy oil pump or maybe a blocked oil way somewhere, when the oil was changed did they put an engine flush through just before, i did that when i changed my oil also put in wynns super charge oil treatment to help restore compression ect.

hope you find the problem.
please let us know when you do.

just had athought:eek:

not sure if this has been mentioned or if you have tried this yet.
get someone to sit in car with the ignition on and check the wiring from the oil sensor, flex it all along its length and any of the loom you can where the wires run, it could be the insulation in the wire breaking down and shorting out when the engine is running.:d

Hey guys, has anybody found a solution to this, my clio 1.2 8v started doing this after i had repaired the damage by a timing belt snapping (not my fault!). This fault only happens when the engine is warm and the revs drop below 750rpmish, A soon a you rev the car above 1000rpm, the oil and stop light go away. Car drives fine did 120miles on the weekend no problems apart from light flashes on and off when changing gear (revs drop low) Oil level is normal and I have taken the throttle body off to clean the idle steeper motor using carb cleaner but to no prevail :) Any thoughts much appreciated??

05 Laguna 2. Had turbo changed as blown, 30 miles later blown again.

After examining everything found blocked condenser. Refittet another turbo and car drives lovely. No Smoke.

After 15 miles the oil pressure & stop light come on. If you put your foot down goes out?

Brought new sensor but how the hell you get the socket onto it? blocked by oil filter housing?

Any other ideas why its happening?

this is now happening on my megane cabby and is driving me mad, fine when car is revved but upon returning to idle the oil and stop light flashes, and just to really confuse the hell out of me there are times when it won't do it at all, like when I took the car to be given the once over (you know the one, you want it to do it and it stops only to start later the same day) :baseballbat:
It has been suggested the oil might be too thin or possibly the oil filter at fault so an oil change on the cards for me and hope that fixes it

You replied to a 7 year old thread, chances are folk have moved on.
I suggest that you start your own topic and give us as much information about you car, engine size and type as possible. Thanks.
