Renault Scenic Megane Key Programming

Please HELP - my key has lost its programming for the central locking and immobiliser. I have managed to get the code from Renault and am currently punching it in every time I start the car (Oh what fun after getting fuel and people beeping their horn cos they think I am just sitting there contemplating the world ) - Anyway it is a Renault Sceninc Megane 1999, the light on the key fob works when I press it (I have changed the battery) and when you press the internal central locking button it works.

I have had the same problem and it seems that the next step is to get the key re-programmed by renault which should get the central locking working at a cost of about £35.00. I have searched this site for 3 days now and cannot find any ouher way. The common problems seem to be - Water gerring into the censor next to the interior mirror, plip not working(you can check this by pointing it at a mobile phone camera) and wiring problems in the door pillars. - Still confused.
