Angry brakes and lighting problems

Hi all

I have had problems on and off for months with intermittent squealing from the car wheels. (There is only 18k on the clock from new). This noise (so loud that pedestrians would look round on hearing me approach) would stop when the brakes were pressed but returned again after, persisting up to speeds of 50+ mph.

The R dealer investigated and found a rear brake caliper sticking and my front pads 50% down. Servicing the rear brakes and servos plus replacing the front pads seems to have fixed it (150 odd quid in all and chargeable). All seems a bit early in the car's life to me ..- I'm going to call renault about it.

Has anyone else had this problem ?

Also my reversing lights now only operate intermittently. Again, anyone had this too?

Hi Ben
Pleased to hear the brakes are sorted, bet it has improved the
fuel consumption, binding brakes is not uncommon the rear calipers must be kept clean so they release after braking.

Suprised to hear you had to pay though,is it not under warranty.

As for the reversing light a quick check of the bulb and earth
connections may sort it,or get the dealers to do it under warranty.
