Hi guys i need help urgently. just bought a 53 Clio 1.2 and the fuse for the washers keeps blowing on me. i'll replace it and it'll work fine till i drive away and re-start the engine and it'll have blown again. this fuse controls the front and rear wash along with the rear wiper. has anyone had this problem before its driving me nuts! my hazards also don't seem to work if these are in anyway connected? any help will be greatly appreciated

Check all electronics for water, and if possible check all fuses making sure they are all the right numbers, too low a fuse will blow, water may link wires to the fuse giving higher voltage, I'm guessing water is in a motor or something somewhere causing it to screw the fuse and the other things that don't work.

I'm not sure if clios have a BCM or something that controls the wipers, like the ECU controls the engine, may have something to do with that, corrosion tends to do similar things as water.

the fuse is 15 amp which is correct but if it was water wouldnt it just blow as soon as i put a new fuse in a tried to wash? ive had it working for half a day but on second/third startup its just already blown.

the fuse also controls other circuits to these:

F3 Fan in a box 15A Windscreen wiper compound control, Reversing lights switch, Air conditioning control panel, Passenger compartment temperature sensor fan, Air conditioning control unit, Footwell vents air conditioning distribution motor, Rain sensor computer, Starter relay, Discharge bulb ECU, Headlight adjuster motors,

Is there a good possibility one of these are tripping on ignition?

Everytime you start the car there is a huge surge, there is normally a capacitor that absorbs this, sometimes moisture can prevent the capacitor from absorbing it, and the most convenient electrical system gets the brunt, after a few surges, (a few starts) this fuse may be getting it and blowing. Make sure all these systems you mention are off or as what they should be at start up, check all other fuses for blown ones, either one of these systems could be at fault, due to corrosion or anything.

I had this issue a few winters ago in a Citroen, turned out the water in the washers had ice in and kept blocking the lines and blew the fuse each time, it worked then sucked ice in and blocked, stronger anti ice wash sorted it in the end after a few fuse changes.
A long shot but just might be the same.
