Hi folks, new to the forum, hope someone can help. I have a 2006 Kangoo van 1.5 tdci. Today my son put a pair of jump leads on it to start his car which had a flat battery. Now my van won't start. The red immobiliser light flashes, then when I turn the key to start it, the light stops flashing and goes solid red, the van turns over but will not fire. Using the spare key makes no difference. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery and this has made no difference, connections are tight and all ok. Can anyone help, think its related to the immobiliser in some way? Thanks, Mark

Hello and welcome :)

Do you know whether your son connected the last connection to his negative battery terminal or the engine bay somewhere?

If he connected it to the negative terminal on his battery then he may well have reversed the polarity which may well have fried the electrics in your car

Firstly, I would check all the fuses and also check the condition of the battery and alternator. Beyond that you are probably into auto sparky area!

Tut tut son
