Help, Tyre Sensors On Laguna!!!

Can anyone please help me? Sick and tired of these money making scams from manufacturer, so can somebody point me in the direction of a garage that can turn the sensors off, possibly in scotland. Renault dealer say's it's a no go area for them.

Hi Scotia, you dont say the age of your Laguna, but here are some points ...

1/ Any Renault dealer can disable the sensors ... they may charge and complain as it is a SAFETY feature, but it can be done.

2/ Renault changed the tolerances for the Laguna from 1PSI to 3PSI to stop false alarms, if your car is still under warranty has this change been done? .... it is FOC if you ask. If not and dependant on your relationship with your dealer it can be done but they may charge or not.

Remember 3PSI is a significant pressure loss!

Bear in mind these are seen and sold as safety features and there are grumbles on the internet about insurance companies getting stroppy on claims where safety features such as these have been deliberately disabled.

They should work and if they are false alarming and under warranty TELL THE DEALER and get them to fix it ... also moan at RCS (regardless if under warranty or not.)

Hope it helps

Why is it the older I get .... the better I think I was ?

Look at this long thread on tyre sensors on the forum...

Put the full details of your car on the forum so members can help without asking more questions first.

The tyre pressure warning light came on in my Laguna the other day and all four wheels were missing from the display!

The next day I was driving and one by one each wheel reappeared on the display and the warning light went off again. Great system eh!?

The last three days I have had a strange one while coming home from work, It has happened in exactly the same place on all three counts, Radio goes off and voice says there is a problem with the sensors and warning light on dash saying sensor fault, also shows the wheel as missing on the other display.
Five miles down the motorway it corrects itself ,
Hasn't happened on the way to work just on the way home, Strange coincidence or what .
What is the cause for this problem and is there a cure.
