welcome to the forum. OBD sands for On Board Diagnostics. It's where the diagnostic computer is plugged in to read faults stored on the ECU

OBDII is a pretty poor attempt at standardising the interface for vehicle diagonstics. All they really managed to settle on standardising was the connector.

Manufacturers couldn't even agree on a communications protocol, so there are actually three different ones (Renault use the CAN protocol.) Then on top of that, even once you've got the protocol right, there are only a few basic parameters that are actually standard. Manufacturers each have their own 'extended' codes, meaning that you need an EOBD computer specific to your car's manufacturer to actually access all of the features.

So much for standardisation eh?

Thanks for that - now I know I don't need it !

As for the second part of my question. I see that the ipod connection can be easily made on the Update List headunits, but I have a Tuner List.

1) Where can I find a solution that will not cost me over £100
2) Does anyone else have a Tuner List connected to an iPOD ? How have you done it ?
