does the car have a roof mounted aerial. renaults are poorly designed and the aerial leaks water into the immobiliser unit on all models. this would be the most likely cause. if the key fob opens the doors and turns off the immobiliser at all, then the fob is programmed correctly.

Yes it has a roof mounted ariel but we have checked that and theres no water getting in anywhere.
Some good new tho the garage that sold it to me has agreed to get it sorted for me.
Gonna take a bit of time but am willing to wait.
He thought he had sold me a banger and didnt realise it was one of his dearer cars as soon as he realised which car it was he was as good as gold, total change of attitude .
Plus the fact he is good friends with my father and he has always bought his cars from there helped sway the decision for him.
Think he was more afraid of losing a good customer.
