Clio 04 Horn problem

Hi Guys, I wonder if you can help me. Firstly i'm new to the site, and to forums and i've got an 04 Clio. When the steering wheel is in the straight/central position the horn does not work, but if you turn the wheel 1/2 turn to the left or the right it works. Can anyone please help me?
Thanks Dawn
PS: Can anyone explain to me how I can take the centre of the steering wheel off that you push to operate the horn?

Hi and welcome to the forum if you wish to take the steering wheel off you will first have to disconnect the battery so there is not power going to the airbag in the steering wheel. You will find 2 star torque screws at the back of the steering wheel when loosened it will let you pull the airbag horn part away from the rest of the steering wheel i would not tend to mess about with this as it can the be very lethal if your head was side on to the airbag with very deadly consequences thats way i say disconnected the battery but there will be other things you will need to reset with codes like the radio after you connected the battery back up once the airbag part is back and screwed in position. But if you must i would try and sit front on to the airbag at all times. It sounds very like there is a connection problem in there to do with the horn.I hope this helps all the best Donald.
