Smile Replacing Woofers Only, Advice Please

Hey guys, I'm looking to replace the woofer units in my Vel Satis,I'm far from impressed with their sound. My mobile phone produces more bass on loudspeaker than the speakers in the car do!!

Anyway I dont want to get right involved in re-wiring and I dont want to mess about with the tweeters either as they work fine and top end is not a problem.

Can I simply choose a set of 1 way custom fit speakers that will fit in the apertures and thats it, or is it a bit more techinacal than that with watts and ohms and frequency ranges etc.

I'm not after "Sub" like bass, just a more punchey and more balanced sound. Can anyone recommed some speakers that may achieve this???

Hi Jamesy - yeh it will be necessary to get speakers to match your system otherwise the drive unit could be overloaded with subsequent failure - every sound system has its limits. Have you tried adjusting all the settings, balance, fade, treble, bass and things. I suggest you go to a decent In Car Entertainment (ICE) company who may be able to suggest what may be suitable and still fit into the existing apertures.
