Unhappy scenic radio problem

My wife's 2002 scenic's radio/cassette has just decided to stop playing anything. The display works, you can change stations, turn the volume up/down put a cassette in, eject it. But you can't hear a thing.

I've taken a look at the wiring and it seems to be connected correctly.

Any ideas???

Hi graphicrust.

Sounds like a problem with the amplifier stage of the radio, unless it is something daft like the radio is in mute,if it is the loudspeaker wiring that is at fault you would normally lose one channel not both left and right.

You say you have checked the connectors at the rear, there is one that is totally loudspeakers only if it was not pushed in properly it would cause the fault you describe.
All i can say is give it another look.

Hope this helps.

Currently in Getafix's garage:
clean and shiny Scenic 2 1.6 16v Auto. (and a Fiat Campervan).
