well, all i know is that i service my kangoo at very regular intervals, 4-6000 miles, and the service light doesn't come on. now, either there is a sensor/switch somewhere to tell the car that something's been done, or my kangoo's serv light is a duff! but i know the light works, as it came on with the air bag symbol, once. the renault receptionist told me the answer to that one! simply a dodgy under-seat connection......
what a nice lady!
The SERV light is an indication that there is a fault in the electronic system somewhere, and is not a service indicator light.
As Pizzaman says, the light is sometimes accompanied by the ABS or Airbag lights. If the light is on on it's own, then it's usually an engine management fault.A code read at any independant garage with the correct equipment can tell you what's causing it.No need to go to a main dealer......
