No worries!

I don't think the guy set out to rip you off, and the fact that he's given you a refund tells me he's wanting to play fair. It does seem to be a common assumption that the Laguna II is multiplexed, and I can see why people would want to err on the side of caution. Maybe there are some multiplex systems on the car, but all evidence would suggest that the road lighting isn't one of them.

Anyway, it's the result that counts. I'm glad to hear that you got your refund

Towbar fitted

Thanks for all the info guys, I have connected the electrics straight to the wiring plug that plugs into the light cluster and all is working perfectly.

Thanks again

Digging up an old thread, I know, but I'll look again in the morning, but I'm sure the Lag II has a light on the dash for trailer indicators - how come this isn't used for the indicators?

Only asking as I'm thinking of wiring up an electric socket for a cycle rack light board... unless I go for a roof mounted rack!

Some people say I'm stark raving bonkers, the others just smile and nod...

12S wiring on Laguna 2004 h/back

Newly joined having found this forum when trying to solve a problem with the 12S wiring just done on my 2004 Laguna Privilege 2.2 Diesel 5 door hatchback. I am purchasing a new caravan in January. A Renault dealer fitted new towbar electrics and I queried that pin 6 of the 12S, which runs the fridge, was permanently live. I thought this had to be via a relay to save the car battery getting drained. I was told that this was not required as caravans manuafactured after 1997 had "electrical revisions" fitted which makes relays on the car unnecessay
The Caravan Club say that a car relay is necessary. The caravan manufacturers say a car relay is necessay. Utter confusion!!
I will know for certain who is right when I pick up the caravan but ...until then....any views??
