No oil light?

Hello can anybody help? I have bought an espace 2.0 rt 1994 ,my problem is that i have no oil light, i have tried earthing the switch out and replaced the bulb but it still does'nt work. can anybody help? regards Mike.

i'm no auto electricain,but i'm guessing the oil pressure switch has two wires running to it,one being live so when you start the motor it forces the switch open and breaks a circuit so the light goes there power going to the switch,iirc the switch is a sealed unit so apart from cleaning electrical contacts there is no maintainence could try tracing the wires back as far as you can and check for continuity along each wire,failing that a replacement switch
