my van does have its own battery but as i only go to sites and use their hook up i never use on board power-thanks for caring
by attaching 12s socket surly the car will not throw a wobbly-i have hadf enough trouble with cars lately so can not cope with anymore dramas
i have a citroen picasso that i usually drive to france but a local garage serviced it 3 weeks ago and it has not run since-they of course say that it is not their fault-the fact that i drive it in,they passed the mot on it and i thought i would get it serviced whilst i was there but it would not start so i have needed a car -i went a briught a gd scenic -it is fantastic(i paid too much for it but)fast powerful and comfortable but it did not have towbar hence problem with electrics
the car is hugh but towing rate is only 1300kg-the same a hdi picasso-that cant be right can it

Sadly many people are led astray with the notion "big is powerful" - but the towing capacity of any vehicle is governed by numerous aspects - such as the power to weight ratio, suspension and steering geometry, gearing, etc. As manufacturers are being forced to produce more economic and environmentally friendly cars something has to be sacrificed and as towing needs are a relatively small proportion of the market most manufacturers don't take this aspect into their design. When deciding to tow a caravan there are two approaches "buy a car to suit the van" or "buy a van to suit the car". In my experience very few people consider the towing capabilities into cinsideration when buying a car and caravan companies are reluctant to give advice when selling caravans in case it spoils their sale. One of the best places for advice is to join a well established caravan club.

Unhappy laguna 2 sport t towbar wiring

I've just fitted a towbar to my 05ST but I'm not sure about using a test lamp to identify the car's wiring. I have had a look at the loom for the rear clusters but I can't figure out the wiring colours I need to connect into. The car is an '05 Laguna 2.2 dci Initiale Sport Tourer, can anyone tell me where I can get a diagram to work to?

The easiest thing to do is take the bulb holder out and study it closely. With a bit of patience, it should be pretty easy to trace the contacts of each bulb back to the appropriate connections on the plug.

Only the dual-filliament brake/side light will pose a problem now. You'll probably have to meter that out with the side lights turned on.
