Epsace towbar wiring problem

Have recently bought my espace esecond hand and have found out that there is a problem with the left hand towing indicator. The indicator is fine normally but when i plug in caravan and turn on the left indicator the indicator makes a different sound to normal.

Is there anything i can do myself to check wiring etc? To see where the problem lies? I dont think the problem is my caravan wiring as the problem persists when using a trailer lighting board!

Please help!

If the problem is there with different hitch ups - then it is in the wiring connections in the car or its socket - I would check the continuity of earth which on a multi reader should read zero

I've just fitted one to my Espace and the different noise is to let you know that you are connected and the lights are working OK.
If you have a bulb gone then the sound is the same as when you have no trailer connected and so lets you know all is working OK.
