Unhappy Non starter

I have tried to get my immobiliser switched off so I can start my car but Renault say that they cannot do this & that I need a diagnostic test to find out why my car only starts when it is locked. I have seen an advert on the internet that offers an immobiliser bypass kit for 84 that will solve my problem. Has anyone got experience of these kits & is it true that Renault cannot disarm my immobiliser?

I think the immobiliser by-pass kits are for earlier models, but I could be wrong......

In theory, the immobiliser on your car shouldn't be effected by the locking system as there is a chip in the key that turns it off when you put the key in the ignition, unlike the earlier models that needed the remote central locking activated.

Have you got a spare key you can try?

Is there any alarm system fitted to your car?

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
