Wiring a tow bar on Scenic

Hi, i've just fitted a tow bar to my 2003 Scenic 1.9dci and was trying to find out if I need to use a wiring kit or can I just scotch lock the cable's. If scotch locking, how do i find out the cars wiring colours, I know the trailer's wiring colour's are standard. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Ashes

In the past, I would just have used ScothLoks, but on a modern car I wouldn't.

If you are not absolutely certain that you know how the lights are wired, taking into account electronic warnings for blown bulbs etc, then I'd strongly advise that you buy a kit from Renault.

On the Modus, these just plug in between the existing wiring and the lamp clusters at the rear.
