Thermometer Faults

Hi there. I'm being lazy and rather than look through to see if anyone has had a similar problem wanted to see if some kind sole out there has any relevant wisdom to impart on me.

The thermometer in my car frequently reads very low and doesnt reflect the outside temperature. I know the summer hasn't been great up here in Scotland but the temperature today is pretty warm yet my car thinks it's -5.

The fault is intermittent so I'm wondering if there's anything that can be done short of getting it into the garage. Will disconnecting the battery reboot the computer and reset the thermometer?

Any advice greatfully received.

Hi Leigh, Would advise against dissconnecting battery as you will have to reset settings such as electric windows and I do not think it would cure the problem. Suspect faulty sensor or wiring to sensor. The sensor is mounted under the drivers mirror. Search the forum as it has been mentioned before. (If you can make the effort)
