Anyone know what switch/sensor this is?

Found this in the glovebox, i'm guessing its been replaced but doesn't look too old. It has a pinkish rubber seal on the one end. The car is a V reg (1999) Scenic 1.6 16V.
Thanks in advance

its a sensor

Sorry but cant remeber what its called, but if you look at the engine from the front, it sits just behind the first spark plug, on the air intake manifold.
