Digital clock& odo

Hi all,I have a 98 clio1.2 [new shape] and a few days ago the illuminated clock and odo in the middle of the dashboard went dark,I dont think there is a dimming switch on it[I've looked and can't see one,but don't really know what I'm looking for ],could the bulb have blown? or is there something else it could be,is it really a job an amateur should[or could ] attempt, cheers in advance,Gary.

chances are it's a bulb gone. I think the top has to come off the dash to take out the instrument cluster. Also there may be a write up on doing it in the clio faq
