Guys thank you for the time to reply....I realized that the mileage to refuel can increase with improving driving conditions, but here I was seeing a Km increase more or less each second while stopping at a crosslight . Now it seems almost stable with minor variations (for all the above reasons).

I can't understand why the range would go up - are you sure you didn't have it on the fuel economy setting instead?

Most of mainland Europe measures fuel economy in 'litres per 100Km' so a low figure is more economical than a high one. In the UK, we still use 'miles per gallon' (even though fuel sales have been measured in litres for well over a decade) so a high figure is more economical than a low one.

When sitting at lights, you are using fuel but not covering distance, so this is bound to have a negative effect on economy. If you've only just reset the counter, then you will see the numbers ticking up or down quite rapidly. If it's been a while since you reset it, then a short spell at lights shouldn't have a noticeable effect.
