Key battery

The battery is running out in my key fob. Can I just buy a new battery of the internet and replace it myself? I've been told it may need recoding but I'm clueless as to what I have to do. My Renault garage is miles away and not easy for me to get to. I have a renault clio.

Any advice gratefully received!

Hi elf248, you need to be a bit more specific on your model of Clio. But in general you can just buy the batteries yourself and fit them, some versions of the Clio2 key ... the IR one use 2 batteries (CR2016) ... just make sure you put them in the correct way up.

hope it helps

Why is it the older I get .... the better I think I was ?
