I've been getting this exact same problem of recent. I know a guy who ran a diagnostic check on it (for 20!) and the fault was logged as no power to the airbag. He reset it once, but a week later the same happened again. He ran the diagnostic check again (for free!), same result. He's reset it again - and touch wood it's been a few weeks since the warning lights were on. He did suggest possibly the squibb!? needing replacing, but i think i'll just try the wires under the seat first. Mine is the Megane coupe 1, so if it is just the wires - will my car reset itself and the lights go out - if it is the same problem?

I have a Renault Megane and the airbag / service lights come on quite often and of course when that happens, if you have central locking activated, the doors keep unlocking and locking themselves as the airbag lights go on and off.
I was told to chack the cables under the passanger and driver seats and make sure that the connectors had not worked loose. Have been able to manually fix this many times now.
Yet another in a litany of faults on the Megane with the big bum

Under-seat airbag connectors are certainly a big problem, but it is not restricted to Renault. MG/Rover cars suffer exactly the same problems, as do Fiat and Alfa's IIRC
