Folding Mirrors???

I have 2001 Laguna II. The folding wing mirrors have recently stopped folding. On the odd occassion, with a bit of fiddling, they will fold (or partially fold), but there is no consistancy. Does anyone know how this could be resolved?

Does the memory need resetting? Could it be a wiring issue?

Many thanks,

Use it or lose it - as the saying goes.

You will probably find that it is a case of lubrication! Especially if the car lives outside and the previous owners havn't used the folding mirrors on a regular basis.
You may be able to get away with squirting some wd40 type stuff in and around where the mirror folds - you might fre up the motor.
Also I find the trick is not to turn the control too quickly - sometimes if you turn it too quickly the mirrors fail to fold. If you turn the control slowly they work better.

If you keep folding/unfolding the mirrors they may free up again.
Failing that you will have to remove the mirrors to gain access to the motors and spray/clean them direct.

Hi smedcalf ... it could also be the door/ mirror switch is faulty ... but to be honest I reckon SportTourer is right ... road muck and a lack of use and lubrication.

hope it helps

Why is it the older I get .... the better I think I was ?
