Hi all i have a 2001 diesel scenic 1.9 tdi
i bought the car as a none runner with blown head gasket and shot turbo. head has been skimmed and replaced, turbo has been reconditioned and refitted. all seemed well but engine will not start. seems to be no ecu power, a mechanic from local garage came out with computer but could get no reading from ecu, engine turns over but has no engine management systems, ie no cold start , no heater plug power etc so we are assuming that the ecu is dead or there is no power going to it. does any one know witch is the power in pin to te ecu as we cannot find a diagram ecu is a bosch 0281010442
would be gratfull for any assistance as do not have funds to put into garage

Thanks madnoel 10 it is a DTI if it was an immobilize problem would the engine still turn over ?
when you put ignition on imobilizer light does as it should do
all connections and earths under bonnet have been checked we would still need to know i think if power is going to ecu for this we need a diagram

Depending on the type of immobiliser system the engine may turn over but not start - if the diagnostic system cannot read the ECU I would agree with you that it is either not getting power, has a poor connection or is dead. I have had a look through many car books and can't see what colour the power supply should be to the ECU. My latest book for the Laguna II shows the majority of power cables are coloured red - although this is no guarantee for the power supply for the ECU. I take it you have checked all fuses (including those under the bonnet) and relays.:)
