Hazards - Stuck on!

I have tried to have a look around the threads but can only see problems with hazards not coming on, mine on the other hand once pressed do not want to go off!

Now obv if I dont press them then I dont have a problem, but its gonna fail the MOT and if I need them i'm gonna be stuck

So after an episode of having a flat battery the other day after someone pressed them and my cellotape failed, i need a more long term solution!

Could it just be the switch? Or the whole unit?
My car is a 52 plate clio extreme

Any ideas really greatful

HI Clare sounds like the hazzard warning swirth is duff and is available a separate unit - you could try and source a second hand one - could be it has stuck with dust or dirt - if removed it may be cleaned.

Used to have an Astra which stuck on, if you violently flick the switch on and off a few times it would unstick itself.

There hardly ever used so they tend to just stick on when used.

A problem well stated is a problem half solved !

Hi Clare,

This happened to me recently. I took it to an Auto Electrician who diagnosed that the catch to hold the switch in had broken. He ordered a new one direct from Renault which came the next day and I had fitted for 20 all in. The switch was about 17, with only a few quid (if anything) for fitting.

Hope this helps
