Hi LOnga -as far as I know the stat betton has to be removed for access to the bulb - according to the Haynes manual it just clips out - take care not to damage the facia

I found it to be a rather pointless light. Could not really see its purpose. However, I like everything to be working in my vehicles so took the switch apart, the bulb is soldered in and you need to find a very small one to replace it with, I get mine from Maplins.
To remove the switch, you need a nice thin, flat blade and you will find the retaining lugs are at 10 o'clock 2 o'clock and 6 o'clock. Be careful not to damage the aluminium ring or the dashboard surround.
