Its not glass anyway, its plastic coated with a film

thanks for all your advice but looks like i won't be doing it just yet. it seems to have sorted itself out and is working fine. if it goes wacky again then i shall whip it out...... thanks for all your help...

I think mine needs replacing as the display shows 64 degrees only 4 or 5 at the moment or 38. How much did you pay for the sensor and did you have to get it from the stealer's?
