flashing display problem

My diesel Megane recently had a fuel pump replaced. Since then, the display for the onboard computer which indicates how may more miles can be done on the fuel in the tank just displays 4 flashing dashes. Resetting the display doesn't help. Some other threads suggest that if fuel gets v low this can happen, but it never got into the red. On the other had, it took an unusually large amount of fuel when I filled it up, so perhaps fuel guage not very accurate and it was v low after all.

Is this a fault to worry about as it creates few practical difficulties..?

Any sharing of similar experience gratefully received...

Hi Trowser - the miles to go aspect of the dash readout ain't that accurate - or maybe the fuel gauge sender in the tank is giving faulty readings
