here's the schematic.
your rev counter needs modify and re-calibrated!! Or you will only get the reading which is the real value divided by 2.
Open the pcb of the rev counter, you will see a frequency to voltage chip. you need to replace the capacitor to a suitable value and adjust the potential resistor to achieve the reading.
You don't need to get a full wire from the bonnet to the rev counter, in fact, the rev counter pin connection is reserved at the connecter under the immobilizer relay box, which located near the battery. It should be PIN B1 in the connector(no wire in it for 1.2 model).
