Clio - Electrical Problems

Apologies if this has been covered before. I have a Renault Clio (96) 1.2. The battery does not hold it's charge. The last time the battery was changed (6 months ago) the mechanic tested the Voltage - all OK, but the battery light came on after half an hour into a new battery ! What else could it be? - looking at other websites - this seems to be a common problem with clios and the cause seems difficult to track down

Hi Gary - could be the alternator is not charging sufficiently. Get its voltage output checked. Its voltage output should be between 13.5 and 14.8 volts
