Battery Light Stays On

Hi i have just brought a 95 espace and the battery light stays on when driving the previous owner says it has been doing it for over a year but never caused any problems. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas which could help me solve this.
Many Thanks

Usually a sign the the regulator in the alternator is goosed. Replacement is the only option as I don't think you can buy this serparately.

It is a simple thing to test the alternator. Use a multimeter - connect it across the battery and check the voltage if it is around 14volts with the motor running that means the alternator is charging. I would have thought if the light has been on for that long with a faulty alternator the battery would be very flat by now!!!!! If the alternotor is charging then the fault lies elsewhere and you should consult an auto sparky.

Thumbs up Replacement Regulators

You may be pleased to know that alternator regulators which include the brush set are available to buy seperately for around a tenner. Just google it or go to an auto electrics retailer.
