Sunroof blues

After foolishly leaving my sunroof open, the central locking censor filed with rainwater. As a result the only way I can activate the central locking and thus disarm the immobiliser, was to remove the red cover lens from the system(lots of water) and actually insert the key into the open space, then press they key. Obviously the system is still working, although it’s a bit inconvenient to have to this every time. What I would like to know is what do I need to replace, and how difficult is it to do. The car is a Clio RT1.4 1998.
Any advice would be appreciated, apart from the obvious, shut the sunroof in future.

Hi Andy and welcome to the forums. What a nightmare - with a bit of luck some of our members will have some suggestions...

A friend of mine had a similar problem caused by water leaking from the radio ariel. If you can dry this out stuff a small nappy behind the trim, this absorbs all the moisture.
